⌘ Role Overview

The VP Finance will be Timeleft's financial leader with a clear path to CFO. You own all financial operations for a high-growth B2C subscription platform operating across 50+ countries.

This is a one-person finance function at the start—you'll be fully hands-on while building toward CFO-level strategic influence.

You'll work closely with the CEO (expect multiple meetings per week initially), sit in Board meetings as a guest, and become the financial reference point for the company, investors, and all external stakeholders.

This role requires deep expertise in subscription economics, multi-currency revenue recognition, and complex unit economics modeling. The finance function is here to support scaling from €15M to €100M+ revenue. You'll validate what exists, define the roadmap, and make it bulletproof.

This is not a traditional finance role—you'll need to understand product metrics, retention cohorts, and CAC/LTV dynamics as fluently as P&L statements.

⌘ Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & External Relations

  • Own all finance operations as a one-person function (Potential Finance Manager hire in Q3/Q4 2026)
  • Become primary contact for all external stakeholders: shareholders, VCs, accountants, lawyers, banks
  • Take full ownership of cash in / cash out—runway management, burn rate optimization
  • Attend Board meetings as guest, present financials, field investor questions
  • Lead or co-lead fundraising process (materials, due diligence, investor relations)
  • Own stock option plan administration, cap table management, shareholder communications
  • Manage relationships with banks, legal counsel, accounting firm

Financial Control & Data Integrity

  • Audit existing finance system and define V2 roadmap
  • Implement controls ensuring bulletproof accuracy across revenue recognition, forecasting, reporting
  • Establish reconciliation processes between Stripe, accounting platforms, and operating models
  • Work with Data team (soon VP Data) on operating models, LTV, cohort analysis—Finance owns the truth, Data supports the modeling
  • Diagnose and permanently fix any data integrity issues
  • Ensure compliance with international tax regulations and ASC 606/IFRS 15 standards

Subscription Business Mastery

  • Own unit economics: cohort-based LTV models, retention forecasting, CAC payback analysis
  • Monitor business health through key metrics (ARR, retention curves, CAC by channel, churn drivers)
  • Model financial impact of strategic decisions (pricing tiers, market expansion, product launches)
  • Manage multi-currency complexity across 50+ countries with dynamic exchange rates
  • Challenge and drive growth vs. spend decisions with rigorous financial analysis

Strategic Partnership with CEO

  • Become true thought partner to CEO—speak the same language, share the same growth mindset
  • Help CEO make best decisions with full financial clarity and scenario planning
  • Bring resilience and flexibility, not dogmatism—adapt finance function to growth pace
  • Demonstrate clear leadership posture with leadership team
  • Impose a clear, trusted way of financially running the business

  • Strategic modeling: Scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, growth vs. spend trade-offs
  • Stakeholder management: VCs, lawyers, accountants, banks—can own all external relationships
