As a Senior Product Engineer, you will own meaningful slices of the product end-to-end, from shaping requirements and UX tradeoffs to shipping production-quality code and iterating based on real user behavior. This role sits at the intersection of frontend engineering, product thinking, and design collaboration.

You will be a core contributor to our primary web application, responsible not just for how features are built, but what gets built and why. You will work deeply with product, design, and backend partners to translate ambiguous ideas into high-impact user-facing outcomes.

This is a hands-on role for engineers who care about craft, velocity, and product truth, and who want real ownership rather than ticket-driven execution.

What You Will Do:

Product + Engineering Ownership

  • Own features from problem definition through design refinement, technical scoping, implementation, launch, and iteration.
  • Act as a thought partner to product and design, helping shape scope, sequencing, and tradeoffs rather than waiting for perfect specs.
  • Translate product intent and Figma designs into clear, actionable technical plans, including functional requirements and acceptance criteria.

Frontend Architecture and Execution

  • Architect, build, and maintain high-quality frontend systems using Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.
  • Implement performant, scalable UI patterns with a strong emphasis on component reuse and long-term maintainability.
  • Build responsive, production-grade experiences that work seamlessly across mobile and desktop.

Performance, Quality, and Reliability

  • Design and optimize Server-Side Rendering (SSR) and related performance strategies to ensure fast load times and excellent UX.
  • Integrate cleanly with backend APIs and services, including authentication systems such as Firebase Auth.
  • Maintain a high bar for code quality through thoughtful abstractions, reviews, and technical decision-making.

Collaboration and Technical Leadership

  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend engineers to deliver cohesive, high-quality features.
  • Surface technical risks and tradeoffs early, influencing product decisions with clear reasoning and data.
  • Set informal standards for frontend quality, testing, and performance through example and mentorship, without heavy process.

What Success Looks Like

  • Features you ship are intuitive, performant, and durable.
  • Product and design partners trust your judgment and proactively pull you into early-stage discussions.
  • The frontend codebase becomes easier to extend, not harder, as the product grows.
  • You consistently balance speed with correctness, and ambition with pragmatism.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 4+ years of professional experience building modern web applications.
  • Deep experience with TypeScript, React, and Next.js in production environments.
  • Strong command of Tailwind CSS and modern component patterns, including libraries such as shadcn/ui.
  • Solid understanding of SSR concepts, performance optimization, and rendering strategies.
  • Experience integrating authentication and backend services, including Firebase Auth.
  • Strong product intuition and the ability to reason about UX, performance, and technical tradeoffs.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, especially when explaining technical decisions to non-engineers.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Google Analytics (GA).
  • Familiarity with end-to-end testing frameworks such as Cypress or Playwright.
  • Experience with cloud deployment pipelines, including Amplify.
  • A track record of influencing product outcomes through engineering insight, not just implementation.

How We Work

  • We value speed, but not at the expense of quality or user experience
  • Engineers are expected to think in first principles, not just follow specs
  • Product, design, and engineering collaborate tightly and iterate quickly
  • We prefer simple, composable solutions over clever abstractions
  • Ownership and accountability matter more than titles or ego
