The Opportunity

We are a remote-first performance ad-tech startup with an office in Ljubljana. We operate with high autonomy and deep ownership. This role is a great fit for a data scientist who wants to expand their scope into adjacent fields, including engineering, machine learning and system design, moving well beyond traditional analytics tasks.

You will report directly to the Head of ML and work closely with our CEO to drive client-facing insights and tools. This role offers an exceptional environment to expand your expertise, providing the opportunity to engage with production-level deep learning, reinforcement learning, and Bayesian approaches, which will significantly accelerate your growth in machine learning.

The Mission: Own the Performance Metrics

We leverage client-provided data, giving you the perfect opportunity to dive deep into the numbers and build the internal and external tools that bring these insights to life.

In this role, you will have ownership of our performance metrics. You will collaborate with diverse stakeholders – ranging from the engineering team to external clients – enabling you to exert a direct influence on the product's evolution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own the Core Metrics: Design, refine, and maintain our uplift calculation methodologies.
  • Experimentation & Methodology: Apply a deep understanding of A/B testing, outlier detection, and probability theory.
  • Tool Development: Build interactive internal tools and client-facing prototypes using Looker, Streamlit, Plotly or other tools.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner directly with the CEO to investigate data trends, help with client discoveries, and support high-priority clients.
Requirements
  • Experience: 4+ years of experience working as a Data Scientist.
  • Core Skills: Strong background in probability theory, statistical methods, and experimental design.
  • Product Mindset: A strong desire to build tools and systems, not just generate static data reports.
  • Pluses: Experience in the ad-tech industry, or experience setting up and analyzing A/B tests specifically for mobile and web applications.
  • Working Timezone: Central European Time (CET).
  • Preferable Location: Ability to work in the Ljubljana office is a plus.
Tech Stack
  • Languages & Frameworks: Python (Pandas, NumPy, Streamlit, Plotly, Tensorflow).
  • Data & Cloud: Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, Airflow
  • Workflow: Docker-based workflows.
  • Production Environment: Built on Golang. Experience with Go is a nice-to-have, but not required.
