Role Overview
As a Product Manager at Story TV, you will own the end-to-end product lifecycle for one or more key product areas — ranging from content discovery and recommendation systems to creator dashboards, live streaming experiences, or monetisation features. You will work at the intersection of user research, data, design, and engineering to build products that millions of viewers and creators love. This is a high-ownership, high-impact role for someone who is deeply user-obsessed, data-informed, and execution-ready.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for your designated product area in alignment with Story TV's business goals.
- Identify opportunities through user research, data analysis, competitive benchmarking, and stakeholder inputs.
- Prioritise features and initiatives using structured frameworks (RICE, ICE, MoSCoW) to maximise impact.
Discovery & User Research
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to deeply understand user needs, pain points, and behaviours.
- Synthesise insights into clear problem statements and translate them into well-defined product requirements.
- Continuously validate assumptions through A/B testing, user interviews, usability testing, and analytics.
Execution & Delivery
- Write crisp PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria that enable the engineering and design teams to build effectively.
- Partner with engineering leads to scope, plan, and deliver features on time with high quality.
- Own the sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release management processes for your pod.
Data, Metrics & Growth
- Define and track key product metrics (DAU/MAU, retention, watch time, engagement rate, conversion) and own performance dashboards.
- Use data to drive product decisions, identify growth levers, and course-correct where needed.
- Drive experimentation culture — design, launch, and analyse A/B tests to optimise product experiences.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Design, Engineering, Content, Marketing, and Business teams to deliver cohesive product experiences.
- Communicate product plans, progress, and results clearly to leadership and cross-functional partners.
- Act as the voice of the user within the team and consistently advocate for user-centric decisions.
What We're Looking For
Must-Have Qualifications
- 5–7 years of product management experience, preferably in a consumer internet, OTT, media, or entertainment product.
- Strong analytical skills — comfortable working with SQL, product analytics tools (Mixpanel, Amplitude, Firebase, or similar), and deriving actionable insights from data.
- Experience writing detailed PRDs and working in agile development environments.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills — ability to present complex ideas simply and persuasively.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to self-manage and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
Good-to-Have
- Prior experience with video streaming platforms, OTT products, content recommendation systems, or creator economy tools.
- Exposure to personalisation, ML-driven features, or recommendation algorithms is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with monetisation models — AVOD, SVOD, in-app purchases, or creator revenue sharing.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA from a premier institution is a plus.
- Experience working in a high-growth startup environment.
